Pipeline-Machine Operator

 Position Scope:

Responsible for the set up and operation of at least one type of molded pulp machinery; specifically a 1 face, 2 face or 4 face rotary die mold machine in accordance with EnviroPAK quality specifications and customer requirements / expectations.

Position Summary:

• Set up molded pulp machinery to run at proper speed to ensure product adheres to the quality specifications and safety guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance on schedule and in accordance to procedure to ensure machine stability and dependability.
• Perform necessary adjustments per tool change in accordance to procedure to minimize downtime and maintenance calls.
• Monitor the molding process to maintain high quality of molded pulp product.
• Understand machine capabilities achieving optimum molded pulp product quality.
• Track and record data regarding wet weight per machine drop to ensure part will meet the designated customer quality specifications.
• Evaluates the production process to ensure predictable inputs that will lead to a quality molded pulp packaging part.
• Inform Working Foreman of any non-conformance, equipment failures, raw material issues and or safety issues,

• Must have mechanical knowledge of the wet-end process, molding operation and drying oven.
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools and methods to properly solve problems.
• Meet with the Quality Leads - Stacking and Palletizing to discuss production issues.
• Communicate personnel issues with the Working Foreman.
• Participates and helps facilitate at least 1 mini-Kaizen each month.
• Perform direct labor duties as assigned by the Working Foreman.
• Maintain a clean machine and work environment. 

Qualifications / Skills:

• High school education, GED equivalent or advanced technical school training.
• 1-3 years experience running manufacturing/production machinery.
• Read and interpret work instructions, safety guidelines and other work related material.
• Basic Mathematical skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds or less.
